I am going to start a blog to encourage you about the things of God in your spiritual journey in fitness. I just started back after a long sabbatical from teaching classes. I asked the Lord, why in the world did I take that time off from teaching? I started CrossFit and did that for a while and then went into my own regiment of working out. In a subtle voice, I asked the Lord to show me what the next step was in “MY” fitness journey and what exactly happened to me during my sabbatical… and this is what I learned! You see in a years time, I lost a friend and a very dear employee…..I had to pause….sorry! Her name is Jeri. She had had a stroke to the magnitude of an eighty year old and it took her thoughts, her ability to communicate, her vision at one point, and even left her with the inability to walk. One day she was fine and the next…in a  hospital bed in ICU. Thank you Lord that she is better and we continue to pray health and healing and I know God is at work. This same year my employees were in a tremendous battle…one was getting a divorce and had just had a child, another one had a mother with cancer, one had been hit by a car on his bike and was seriously injured. I think I was a bit overwhelmed with what was going on around me. So, I stepped away from teaching for a while unbeknown to me as to why. I look back and see what the Lord was doing. He has been quietly ministering to my spirit and comforting my heart and pouring living water into an empty well. He has drawn me up out of pit and set my feet back on solid ground and has ignited a fire in me to step back into my calling and to truly see for the first time what had happened to me. It is time for me to bring forth a new fire in fitness in a new place of health and healing. What does that look like? Not sure ….just really feel like the presence of God is going to do some very special things this year in the area of health. Notice the word inside the word…”.HEAL”TH… I believe we are going to see even more healings here at Cardio Studio. Our slogan is …” A PLACE TO IMPROVE BODY MIND AND SPIRIT!” Come and be a part of something special this year. Your fitness journey is about so much more than just your physical body…..its about taking your fitness level to a place where you connect with yourself at a much deeper level. I believe you will see better self-control, have more peace and be enlightened as to what God wants to do in and through you…both physically and spiritually! 2 Corinthians 7:1

Carrie Odiorne

I thank my God for making mention of you always in my prayers , hearing of your love and faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus Christ and toward all the Saints, that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgement of every good thing which is in you in Jesus Christ. For we have great joy and consolation in your love, because of the saints have been refreshed by you. Philemon 1.

Today is what some call a bitter sweet day. My friend and co-disciple will be parting from Cardio Studio to stretch her tent pegs into new territory. Carrie Odiorne will be opening, along with her husband Bob, a new Insurance Agency called Odiorne Agency. She will be moving into an office space by the Donut Palace if you are needing to find her,  visit with her, have her pray with you or perhaps you need some insurance. We are not saying good bye to our sweet friend but rather we will see you for lunch.

I met Carrie when we were working out at World Class Fitness and instructing there. We have always had a kindred spirit friendship. After moving into what is now the Hamby and Hamby Clinic, Carrie walked in my door and said she felt like God wanted her to be a part of Cardio Studio. Little did we know she would stay around for almost a half a decade. Many sweet memories, lots of funny stories, we have waved some storms and even a few spiritual hurricanes together. We have laughed, we have cried. Carrie and I are not just two people that worked together but two friends that have sustained a sisterhood. Not too many people can work together and maintain a great friendship; however, we have managed to do just that and grow deep with each other in friendship and in family.

Carrie, I am thankful for your servant hood as you have allowed me much needed time to spend and grow with my children. Summer after summer you were able to maintain the helm of this ship so that I could travel in baseball with Caleb, go to football games with Tyrone, attend all Chloe’s volleyball games and see Boo do cheer, band and  receive awards. You gave me time when my boys left for college and saw me through to preparing Chloe the same thing. My children have such a sense of who they are because of your service. You know my greatest hearts desire was to be with them, love them, spend time with them, and to raise them. My only prayer for you is that you too find a Carrie along your path to help you do the same thing with Levi and the other children you will have one day. Sharing life with you has been a special journey for all of that have gotten to spend time with you. I have seen you grow in areas of your life, I have seen you enter into a partnership with Christ. I have seen you grow trees of fruitfulness in your life with ongoing patience, love, peace, kindness, goodness, gentleness, joy, self-control, and an increase in faith. Your trust in the father and a willingness to learn and participate in the ministry has flourished partly  because of your attentiveness to the spirit and your willingness to be used by the Lord. Thank you for praying with so many, caring for so many, loving so many, hugging so many, and seeing so many through on their journeys here at the Studio. You are precious, you are chosen, you were woven for a time such as this. May the Lord bless you indeed, expand your territory , keep his hands upon you and keep you from evil. In Jesus name. You are the Beloved and we love and will miss you dearly!

Much love,
